Pinguin Tour Management & Sound

Pinguin is responsible for tour management and sound on the South America tour of the Armenian Symphony Orchestra and Choir Kohar.

IBC Future Zone

Pinguin was invited to present a technical poster at the International Broadcast Convention 2012 in Amsterdam. The newly established "FUTURE ZONE" was the host for our recent research study "audio quality in time of EBU's R128 - HOW LOUD IS OUR WEB". We compared different loudness normalization methods used on the web (as iTunes, ReplayGain etc) with the current EBU method. We will present an updated poster at the VDT Tonmeistertagung 2012 in Cologne.


100 years - Steinway twins

In 2012 the exclusive "Steinway Owners Magazine" published an article about the 100 years jubilee of Christiane Behn's "Steinway twins".

A complex post production was the basis for the new score for the restored silent film "Mutter Krausens Fahrt ins Glück" (composition: Michael Gross; sound: Pinguin Ing. Büro & Markus Dvorak; broadcasted on Arte TV in Novemeber 2012)

Stagetec Nexus and Pinguin Loudness Metering

Stagetec enhances its product Nexus with one more loudness metering capability. Loudness-measurements can now be forwarded to Pinguin's LdnServer and thereby written in a logfile via a new Nexus interface.

Switzerland broadcasting - loudness measuring

tpc (technology and production center switzerland ag) chooses Pinguin software to be the first European broadcaster implementing EBU R128 loudness measuring for their whole program.
As tpc most of the time uses file-based work flows the first Pinguin loudness measuring is done while digitising analogue recordings.

Auro 3D - Musikmesse 2012

Our spectacular "acoustical holodeck" (3D Akustikprojektor), often simply called "the tent", is used by the Belgian company Auro Technologies for demonstrating their latest amazing Auro-3D media products. (e.g. a brand new Lucasfilm release in Auro-3D).

Auro-3D tools like our latest version of the metering software with an Auro-3D measurement workspace are showcased, too.

Recording & post processing

May 2011: Live-TV show recording and transmission for Armenian TV + Web.

Click the picture and see the spectacular 3D live projection at the Armenian state opera of Yerevan.

Pinguin realized the audio-visual and technical project management together with Hayasa productions and brought the team of audio engineers for the live event.
The audio post processing (5.1 surround) for the DVD is currently happening in our facility in Hamburg. The DVD will be released in 2012.


concert recording in Auro 3D®

On New Year's Eve 2011 Pinguin Ing. Büro for the first time recorded a whole concert in Auro-3D-format. Performed was a world premiere in the St. Michaelis church ("Hamburger Michel") for Prof. Wolf Kerschek's concerto for 3 trumpets, 4 organs and fireworks. It was a collaboration with St. Michaelis' musical director Christoph Schöner and trumpeter Matthias Höfs.
